Azerbaijan has been awarded the "Cultural Destination of 2023" by Voyage magazine of the People’s Republic of China.

At the awarding ceremony, Azerbaijan's role as a hub for intercultural dialogue was highlighted, emphasizing its position and reputation in fostering cross-cultural exchange.

The event also showcased Azerbaijan’s remarkable historical and cultural heritage. Participants were introduced to key UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Shirvanshahs' Palace, Maiden Tower, Icherisheher, Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape, the historical center of Sheki with the Khan’s Palace, and The Cultural Landscape of Khinalig People and “Köç Yolu” Transhumance Route.

Additionally, information about these heritage sites was shared on the Weibo social platform of Voyage magazine, at the initiative of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board. This initiative allowed millions of travelers to discover the rich history and culture of Azerbaijan. During a promotional campaign featuring the hashtag "#VoyageAwards年大奖", Azerbaijan was presented as an attractive destination to a total of 10.95 million people.

It is worth noting that Azerbaijan was also previously recognized as the winner of the 2022 Sustainability Awards - Cultural Heritage Conservation by Voyage magazine.
